How to calculate your age
- Pick your date of birth in the first field.
- Leave the calculation date on today, or change it to find the age on another day.
- See your age in years, months and days, and how many days, weeks and hours you've lived.
- Check when your next birthday falls and how many days are left.
How age is counted
Age in completed years is the one used on documents and paperwork. The calculator counts full years, then the full months since the last birthday, and finally the remaining days. If you were born on May 15, 1990, then on October 25, 2026 you are 36 years, 5 months and 10 days old.
Days lived is the actual number of days between the two dates, leap years included. Weeks and hours are worked out from those days. People born on February 29 celebrate on February 28 in years that aren't leap years.
It's handy for filling in forms, finding out since when you can apply for something, working out a pet's age in days, or just out of curiosity. No date is saved or sent.
Things to keep in mind
- It uses Gregorian calendar dates and ignores the time of birth and the time zone: hours lived are days × 24.
- "Today" comes from your device's date.
- It does not replace a legal calculation: some procedures have their own way of counting age.
