What is this tool for?
Fixing text typed with Caps Lock on, preparing titles and headings, standardizing lists or cleaning a pasted paragraph is quicker with one click than retyping it. This tool changes uppercase, lowercase, the first letter of every word, or the first letter of every sentence.
Your text is processed in your browser and is never sent or stored. Accents and special letters are respected according to the language of the page.
Limits to keep in mind
- Title case capitalizes every word; style guides that keep small words like “of” or “the” in lowercase need a manual touch-up.
- Sentence case capitalizes after periods, question marks, exclamation marks and line breaks.
Frequently asked questions
Is my text sent to a server?
No. The text is converted in your browser, on your device, and is not stored.
How do I change text to uppercase without retyping it?
Paste your text and click UPPERCASE. It changes the whole text at once; lowercase, Capitalize Each Word and Sentence case work the same way with one click.
What is the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?
Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word. Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence.
Does it work with accents and other alphabets?
Yes. Accented letters, ñ, ç, ß and Cyrillic or Greek letters are converted correctly. Alphabets without case, like Japanese, stay unchanged.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Use the Undo button to go back step by step.
