How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. Choose or drop your HEIC photos (you can add several).
  2. Pick the output format (JPG by default) and the quality.
  3. Tap Convert.
  4. Download each photo or all of them in a ZIP.

What is this tool for?

iPhones and iPads save photos as HEIC to save space, but many programs, websites and Windows or Android devices cannot open them. Converting to JPG makes the photo work everywhere: email, forms, social networks, editors and printing.

The conversion runs on your device, so your personal photos are never uploaded. The first conversion loads a small decoder to your browser (about 1.5 MB); after that it works quickly. The result has no metadata such as GPS location.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion happens in your browser, on your device. Your photos are not sent anywhere.

How do I open a HEIC file on Windows or Android?

The easiest way is to convert it to JPG here: drop your HEIC photo, choose JPG as the Output format, click Convert and download it. The JPG opens on any computer or phone without extra software.

Why does my iPhone save HEIC photos?

HEIC keeps the same quality as JPG at about half the file size. The downside is that it is not supported everywhere, which is why converting is useful.

Will I lose quality?

JPG is slightly lossy, but at 90% quality the difference is hard to notice. Choose PNG if you need no loss at all, with a larger file.

Can I convert many photos at once?

Yes. Add as many as you want, convert them together and download them one by one or in a single ZIP.

Why is the first conversion slower?

The first time, your browser loads the decoder (about 1.5 MB). Next conversions reuse it and are faster.
