When you need to turn photos into a PDF
To send a document scanned with your phone, join the pages of an assignment or form, send receipts in one file or meet portals that only accept PDF.
Step by step
- Open the “JPG to PDF” tool and choose or drop your images (JPG, PNG or WebP).
- Order them with the arrows: each image becomes a page, in that order.
- Choose the page size (A4, Letter or same as the image), the orientation and the margin.
- Type the file name if you want to change it.
- Tap Create PDF and download it.
Which options to choose
- A4 or Letter size: ideal for documents that will be printed. The image fits without distortion.
- Same as the image: the page takes the proportions of the photo, useful for screenshots or panoramas.
- Automatic orientation: each page adjusts itself depending on whether the image is portrait or landscape.
- Margin: a small margin looks tidier; with no margin the image fills the whole sheet.
- Quality: high keeps more detail; medium or low reduce the weight quite a bit.
Tips for scanning with your phone
- Use good light and avoid the shadow of your own hand.
- Photograph the document straight on, on a flat surface of a color different from the paper.
- Crop the extra edges with the phone editor before converting.
- Photos taken in portrait are respected: they do not come out rotated.
If the PDF is too heavy
Phone photos have lots of pixels. Choose Medium quality for a much lighter file, or compress the images first with the Compress image tool. Then, if you need to add this PDF to others, use Merge PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Can several images go on the same page?
No: each image takes its own page. For another layout, combine them first in an image editor.
Are the photos uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is created in your browser and your images never leave your device.
What happens to PNGs with transparency?
In the PDF they appear on a white background.
