When merging PDFs makes sense
Many procedures ask for a single file with everything inside: the form, the ID, proof of address and proof of income. It is also useful to join the chapters of a paper, a month of invoices or pages that were scanned separately.
Step by step
- Open the “Merge PDF” tool.
- Choose or drop the PDF files you want to join.
- Order them with the up and down arrows: the result follows that order.
- Type the name of the final file if you want to change it.
- Tap Merge PDF and download the document.
What to check before merging
- The order: once merged, changing it means repeating the process.
- Page orientation: if a scan came out sideways, rotate it first with the Rotate PDF tool.
- Passwords: a protected PDF cannot be merged; remove the password first.
- Final size: the result weighs roughly the sum of the originals.
What happens to quality
Pages are copied as they are, without recompressing text or images, so they do not lose quality. Internal links and bookmarks from each file may not be kept.
If the result is too heavy
Email and many portals limit attachment size. If the final PDF is large, try compressing the photos it contains first, or send the document in two parts. If you start from photos, the JPG to PDF tool lets you choose a lower quality so the file comes out lighter.
Frequently asked questions
How many files can I merge?
There is no fixed number: it depends on your device memory. On a current computer, dozens of files are fine; on older phones merge a few at a time.
Are my documents uploaded to a server?
No. Merging happens in your browser, so contracts and ID documents never leave your device.
Can I merge PDFs with photos?
First turn the photos into a PDF with the JPG to PDF tool, then merge it with the other files.
