How to write the pages
The tool understands single numbers and ranges separated by commas. Some examples:
- 3 extracts only page 3.
- 1-3, 5 extracts pages 1, 2, 3 and 5.
- 8-10 extracts pages 8 to 10.
- 7- extracts from page 7 to the end.
- 5, 1-2 builds a PDF with page 5 first and then 1 and 2: the order you type is the order of the result.
Step by step to extract
- Open the “Split PDF” tool and choose your file; you will see how many pages it has.
- Leave “Extract pages” selected.
- Type the pages you want.
- Tap Split PDF and download the new file.
Splitting into several files
If you need to separate the whole document there are two options: “One file per page”, which creates a PDF for every sheet, and “Split every N pages”, useful to cut a long document into equal blocks. When the result is several files you get them together in a ZIP with names numbered in order.
Examples of use
- Send only the signed page of a rental contract, without sharing the rest of the clauses and personal data.
- Pull a specific invoice or receipt out of an account statement that is dozens of pages long.
- Separate an assignment into chapters to send each one to a different teacher.
- Remove a cover or a blank page: extract everything except that page, for example 2- if you want to skip the first one.
Tips
- Check the page count the tool shows first: if you type a page that does not exist, it tells you.
- If a page is sideways, rotate it with the Rotate PDF tool.
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be split; remove the password first.
- To put parts back together into one document, use Merge PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Is quality lost when extracting pages?
No. Pages are copied as they are, without recompressing text or images.
Can I extract repeated pages?
Yes. If you type 2, 2, 3, page 2 appears twice in the result.
Does the original file change?
No. Your original PDF stays untouched: a new file is always created.
