What data you need
- The exact network name (SSID), respecting upper and lower case.
- The password.
- The security type. Almost all current networks use WPA/WPA2/WPA3; if you are not sure, that option usually works. Only choose “No password” if the network is open.
- Whether the network is hidden, because that changes how the phone connects.
Step by step
- Open the “QR Code Generator” and choose the Wi-Fi type.
- Type the network name and password, and choose the security.
- Check the preview: the QR updates as you type.
- Download it as PNG to print or share, or as SVG if you will enlarge it.
- Test it with your own phone before printing.
How your guests use it
On most modern phones it is enough to open the camera and point at the code: a prompt appears to join the network. No app is needed.
Security precautions
- The QR contains the password as is: anyone who scans or photographs it gets it. Do not post it in public places unless you want to share it with everyone.
- If you change the Wi-Fi password, the old QR stops working: create a new one.
- If your router allows it, create a separate guest network and make the QR for that network.
- Our tool creates the code in your browser: the password is not sent to any server.
Size and color for printing
Print it at least 2 cm on a side; larger if it will be scanned from a distance. Use a dark color on a light background with good contrast: codes with inverted colors fail on many scanners. Leave a white border around it.
Frequently asked questions
Does the QR expire?
No. It is a static code: the information is written in the image itself and works as long as you do not change the network or password.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, the camera of modern phones on both systems recognizes Wi-Fi codes.
Can I put a logo in the center?
Our tool does not add logos; to make sure the code always scans, it is better to keep it simple.
