The formula and examples

One pound is exactly 0.45359237 kilograms. To convert, multiply the pounds by 0.4536: 150 lbs is 68.04 kg, 200 lbs is 90.72 kg and 10 lbs is 4.54 kg.

A mental shortcut: halve the pounds and subtract 10%. 150 lbs gives 75 − 7.5 = 67.5, almost the same as the real value. It's handy for reading product weights, baggage limits or recipes in pounds.
