How to make a countdown
- Pick the date and time of the event, or tap a preset (Christmas, New Year, Halloween).
- If you like, type a name, for example "My trip" or "Final exam".
- Watch the time tick down in days, hours, minutes and seconds. It also shows in the tab title.
- Tap "Copy link to share" to send it to someone else: they'll see the same countdown.
What a countdown is for
It helps you know how long until a birthday, a trip, an exam, a wedding, a vacation, a party or a launch. Seeing the days left helps you plan and build excitement.
The presets automatically calculate the next time the date comes around: if this year's Christmas has already passed, it counts down to next year's.
The time is interpreted using your device's time zone. The link stores the date and name in the address, after the # symbol, so they never reach our server.
Good to know
- The countdown uses your device's time and time zone: someone who opens the link in another zone will see the same moment, but measured with their own clock.
- If the date has already passed, the countdown shows zeros and the message that the moment has arrived.
- The shared link doesn't update by itself: each person sees the countdown the link had when you copied it.
