How to convert an image
- Choose or drop your PNG images.
- The output format is already WebP; change it if you need another.
- Tap Convert.
- Download each image or all of them in a ZIP.
What is this tool for?
WebP keeps transparency like PNG but with far smaller files, ideal for logos, icons and graphics on websites. Converting PNG to WebP can cut the weight dramatically.
Everything runs on your device, so your images are never uploaded.
Limits to keep in mind
- PNG with transparency converted to JPG gets a white background, because JPG has no transparency.
- Converting never recovers quality that was already lost; PNG from a JPG will be larger but not sharper.
- Very large images (over 16 megapixels) are reduced automatically. Animated images keep only the first frame.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert PNG to WebP?
Choose or drop your PNG images. The output format is already WebP; change it if you need another. Tap Convert. Download each image or all of them in a ZIP.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens in your browser, on your device.
Will I lose quality?
Transparency is kept. At 90% quality the difference is hard to notice and the file is much smaller. If you need exact pixels, keep the PNG.
Can I convert many images at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download them one by one or in a ZIP.
