How to convert binary to decimal
- Type the binary number in the "Binary (base 2)" field.
- See the result in "Decimal (base 10)", highlighted.
- You also get the octal and hexadecimal of the same number.
- Tap Copy to take the results with you.
The method and an example
Each binary digit is worth a power of 2, from right to left: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16… Add up the powers wherever there is a 1. For example, 1101 = 8 + 4 + 0 + 1 = 13.
Another example: 11111111 = 128 + 64 + 32 + 16 + 8 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 255, the largest value that fits in 8 bits (one byte). The table below shows the first numbers in all four bases.

Good to know
- Binary uses only the digits 0 and 1; any other digit shows a warning.
- There is no size limit, but only positive whole numbers are converted.
- Spaces and underscores are ignored, so you can paste 1111 0000.
