How to generate an EAN-13

About EAN-13
EAN-13 is the barcode on retail products in most of the world. It has 13 digits: the country or organization prefix, the company and product number, and a check digit at the end.
This generator builds the correct symbol but doesn't assign numbers: official ones are issued by GS1. For internal use you can use any number.
