How to play the daily sudoku
- Fill the 9×9 grid so that every row, every column and every 3×3 box contains the numbers 1 to 9 without repeats.
- The level depends on the day of the week: easy on Monday, medium on Tuesday and Wednesday, hard on Thursday and Friday, expert on Saturday and extreme on Sunday.
- Use Notes, Undo and Hint if you need them. Solving it without hints is recorded in your result.
- When you finish, tap “Copy result” to share your time. If you play every day, your streak grows.
One sudoku a day, the same for everyone
Each day's board is generated from the date with a deterministic generator, so every browser builds exactly the same sudoku, with no server and without anyone having to upload it. It is a good excuse to compare times with friends: everybody solves the same puzzle.
Difficulty rises through the week and is not measured by the number of starting digits but by the technique required: on Monday, finding cells where only one number fits is enough; towards the weekend pairs, X-Wing and Y-Wing show up, and on Sunday you need to try hypotheses.
Your streak counts the consecutive days on which you solved the day's board. It is saved only in this browser, along with your game in progress: there are no accounts or leaderboards, and nothing is sent to any server.
Things to keep in mind
- The day changes at midnight according to your device's clock.
- The streak and the game are saved only in this browser: if you clear the site data or switch devices, they are lost.
- Sunday's extreme board can take a couple of seconds to prepare on a slow phone.
